Be brave and live life.

For over 10 years, Leukemia 24/7, supported by family and friends, has carried on a legacy. A promise to support efforts toward a global cure for cancer… 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Per the wishes of the organization’s founder, Todd Zick, the effort continued as an annual fundraiser, raising over $250,000 to benefit numerous cancer organizations. Over the years, 20,000 new registrants have been added to the DKMS bone marrow donor registry through free testing at Leukemia 24/7 events. Many registrations have resulted in matches, and this year, a registrant from the 2012 fundraiser gave a patient the ultimate gift–                         a second chance at life.

Past and current supporters have known the annual fundraiser as Bandana Bash – a family-friendly outdoor event that raised awareness and provided free bone marrow testing. And although the event has been immensely successful over the years, Leukemia 24/7 is shifting gears.

Those closest to the organization know that Todd’s father, Doug Zick, has been the catalyst behind the mission for years. Ever humble, Doug has involved Todd’s closest friends in Leukemia 24/7, empowering their ownership of important initiatives. For years, their involvement has contributed to the overall success of each Bandana Bash event.

Over the years, Doug expressed the need for Leukemia 24/7 to plan for the future... What would the organization look like in 10 years? Who would lead the charge? What events would be held to support the cause? All valid questions for those prepared to carry Todd’s legacy forward.

2015 marked the emergence of those successors. Todd’s closest friends – from childhood, high school and college – look to continue Leukemia 24/7’s progression… to carry-on with the guidance of Todd’s father and family.

And therein lies the beauty of the Todd Zick Golf Classic. The event is a testament to the bonds and friendships created over the years and the commitment to the future.

No different from past events, this year's event will provide everyone with a fun-filled day and quality time with friends. But most importantly, we’ll continue to raise awareness to benefit those battling cancer and their loved ones.

The act of giving through my foundation, Leukemia 24/7, not only helps to make a child's life a little brighter,
but it has changed my life and made me a happier and more complete person.

It is only through us that we will find a cure.
