Since its founding, Leukemia 24/7 has partnered with Delete Blood Cancer DKMS, a global organization that works every day to inspire people to register as bone marrow donors. Ultimately, the process provides patients with second chances at life.
DKMS has become a regular presence at Leukemia 24/7 events. While L24/7 helps to fund research costs, the partnership allows for free bone marrow testing and information services to the public. As a result, 20,000 new registrants have been added to the bone marrow registry, many of which have resulted in matches. In fact, a registrant from the 2012 Leukemia 24/7 event gave a patient the ultimate gift—a second chance at life.
At Leukemia 24/7, we enjoy and appreciate the involvment of DKMS. For more information on this life-changing organization, please visit www.deletebloodcancer.org.
